Design Considerations and System Capacity Adjustments

The IDU and the ODU BTU Designed values that display on the proposal PDF are calculated using the Project Design Temperatures (Fig 1) entered for the system, the nominal Cooling/Heating BTU values of the ODU/IDUs, and the layout piping lengths. The app will make system capacity adjustments for designed Cooling and Heating Temperatures, Piping lengths, altitude, and in some cases the defrost factor.

Project design temperatures (Design Criteria) can be set to a regional default in the user settings. Of course, you can always adjust the temperatures based on the specific needs of the customer.

Touch the Review button on the Option tab to view the Design Considerations used in the system you have built.

The Ductless feature will make capacity adjustments based on the project design cooling/heating temperatures, defrost factors, altitude, cooling/heating piping lengths, and bend factors.  Manufacturers methods for design specifications may differ. The asterisks " *  " indicates that no adjustment has been applied. Please see the table below for the system capacity adjustments that are made for the brands that we carry.
